Artist Discovery: Teitur
Hi everyone. So I have been up at Saratoga Springs, NY doing some work and I was trying to find new music to listen to. I came across an article written by John Mayer for Esquire in I believe 2004 (give or take the year). In it he spoke of this musician named Teitur who is from the Danish Faroe Islands. Mayer spoke of Teitur’s use of melody and extremely impressive lyrical work. I gave it a listen and I am totally hooked. Below are two songs. Check them out and let me know what you think. He has a quiet way of lulling you into his songs while the music keeps you wrapped up in a lovely little way. As a disclaimer, I do not own any of these songs…
“One and Only”:
“I Was Just Thinking”:
I hope you enjoy Teitur as much as I do!

Writing again and new news!
So i thought I would inform you all that I am back to writing new songs again. After the tour and with my final semester at Syracuse University out of the way, I have felt like I needed to write a few songs out. I just can’t seem to find the words to say however so this makes things a little more difficult than usual. I feel like I am at a point in my life where I may just collapse into a heap somewhere or really make a name for myself. I hope you guys enjoy what I have done thus far but I hope you guys are ready for even better stuff to be created soon.
Speaking of new stuff, my new EP should be out in June at some point if all goes according to plan and that should be followed up by another small mini tour in the Tri-State area (NYC and NJ are looking like spots to hit again).
Finally, as it says in the banner at the top of my site, my music is now available on Spotify. You should check it out and again, feel free to let me know with a comment here on the website or on the facebook page (just search for Stephen Babcock and you will see the music page).
Thank you readers for being the best fans out there. Message me some time, I would love to answer any questions or hear any comments you may have.
Thanks for listening

John Mayer “Born and Raised”
As many of you may (or may not know), I am a very very very large John Mayer fan. Yesterday his new record Born and Raised was released. I have to say, this is easily one of the best records I have heard all year. The mix of old acoustic style from Mayer with country feelings and a slightly quieter approach on some tunes…it shows some real maturity. John Mayer has been through so much in the last 2 years and this album proves it. I personally love the tracks “Something Like Olivia”, “Face to Call Home” and “Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967″. When I feel bummed out “Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey”, “Born and Raised” and “Queen of California” really hit the spot.
I really can find nothing wrong with this album. I may seem biased, but I recommend you listen to it yourself and see what I am talking about. It is available on iTunes and Spotify and physical copies are available basically in any record store or chain.
